about our food pantry
Families can shop freely at our pantry and choose only the necessary items, just like a regular grocery store. Our shelves are filled with healthy, culturally meaningful foods that reflect the rich diversity of our student community. More than just food, we aim to nourish, educate, and uplift.
The pantry’s interior proudly showcases the vibrant identity of the Central Unified community through murals by local artists Samantha Lazcano and Andrea Torres.
By the end of the 2023–2024 school year, we began offering locally grown produce from Central Unified’s FFA program. Since opening, we’ve served 6,649 individuals, including 3,780 students under 18. We also support Central USD staff and community members without school-age children, because no one is turned away. In times of need, our pantry is a lifeline. Our goal remains the same: to bring a taste of home within reach for every family we serve.
The pantry will reopen in mid-September. In the meantime, please use the food locator below to find the nearest distribution site.

Empowering Communities
With Access to Food:
Teague Community Pantry
In the heart of Fresno, the Teague Community Pantry is redefining food assistance by offering families the dignity of choice. Instead of pre-packed boxes, visitors shop for healthy, culturally meaningful foods that suit their needs, promoting empowerment, respect, and inclusion.
This innovative model is made possible through generous support from the Kaiser Permanente Benefits Program, Central California Food Bank, and the Feeding America Morgan Stanley Choices Grant. These partnerships have helped the pantry expand its capacity and deepen its impact across the community.
As part of the Foundation for Central Schools, the pantry reflects a broader mission: to support student development and foster community well-being.
